Job summary

Danfoss Drives in Loves Park, Illinois, invites a Quality Engineer Intern to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work with seasoned quality professionals on projects that support manufacturing operations and customer satisfaction.

You’ll gain hands-on experience applying quality practices, problem-solving methods, and data-driven improvements, while collaborating across production, quality, and engineering teams to drive measurable results.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Understanding of quality management principles and interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, or quality management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support quality initiatives by analyzing defect data, validating information, and assisting with non-conformance investigations to improve product quality and process performance.
• Participate in Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities, helping identify issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Partner with production, warehouse, and quality teams to gather feedback, improve processes, and support operational excellence initiatives.
• Assist with updates to PFMEAs, Control Plans, standard operating procedures, and work instructions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineers to understand manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and how data supports business and operational decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Understanding of quality management principles and an interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and functions.
• Good organizational, project management, and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, or quality management systems is a plus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $22.00-$26.00 per hour + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
