Job summary

Pro-Active Engineering in Wisconsin is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to gain real-world experience in electronics manufacturing quality systems.

You will assist in PCBAs inspections, support failure analysis and root cause investigations, participate in internal and customer audits, and help maintain ISO 9001 documentation while driving continuous improvement. Strong data analysis skills with Pareto and control charts are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Familiarity with PCBAs and SMT/AOI is a plus.
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001 or IPC-A-610 is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; data analysis skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in quality inspections of PCBAs at various stages of production.
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations for non-conforming products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in audits and prepare quality documentation.
• Collect and analyze production and quality data using Pareto charts, control charts, and FMEAs.
• Help maintain ISO 9001 quality management system documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process control implementation.
