Job summary

Jabil in Saint Petersburg, FL, seeks a Quality Engineer to represent the quality function of technical support for manufacturing. You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate with suppliers and customers on quality issues, and lead corrective actions across workcells and processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, at least five years in quality or manufacturing engineering, RCCA expertise, and knowledge of SPC, FMEA, IPC/AS9100. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum five years in Quality or Manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience supporting quality systems and manufacturing operations.
  • NP I/NPI experience preferred; defense/aerospace preferred.
  • Experience with CCA manufacturing preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for site security clearance.
  • Strong RCCA knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with SPC, QMS, and continuous improvement.

How will you make an impact?

Represent the quality function of technical support, in conjunction with other internal support groups, regarding issues affecting manufacturing. Serve as a liaison between Jabil and customers or suppliers on quality-related matters while driving continuous improvement, supporting quality initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What will you do?
  • Provide leadership and initiative to the Quality Services organization through continuous improvement projects.
  • Interface with manufacturing areas and support groups to ensure departmental objectives are achieved.
  • Investigate identified quality issues and drive resolution activities.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance plans and process routings that reflect intended and actual manufacturing activities.
  • Support all quoting activities through participation in initial process design, development, and implementation phases.
  • Evaluate and support inspection processes through inspection aids and instruction guidelines.
  • Support training programs through the development and implementation of specialized training sessions for applicable functions.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and maintenance of documentation files and develop systems for document storage and accessibility.
  • Review supplier and customer discrepancies and coordinate corrective and preventative action efforts.
  • Provide trend analysis of defects occurring internally, at suppliers, and at customer locations.
  • Participate in vendor survey activities as applicable.
  • Drive proactive supplier engagement and support supplier process improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with all departments regarding policies and procedures.
  • Monitor departmental activities and provide technical and logistical guidance to quality engineering personnel as needed.
  • Provide technical support to customers on quality-related matters.
  • Support corrective action efforts utilizing SPC data and corrective action tracking systems.
  • Create and implement meetings, procedures, and team-building initiatives to strengthen corrective and preventative action programs.
  • Serve as the liaison between Jabil and customers or suppliers regarding quality concerns.
  • Participate in periodic Quality Business Reviews for assigned workcells.
  • Strengthen and improve technical support within the quality organization.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of related experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting quality systems and manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated NPI (New Product Introduction) experience preferred.
  • Experience in the Defense and Aerospace industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience with circuit card assemblies (CCAs) preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for site‑specific security clearance.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with quality control tools and techniques, including statistical analysis, process control, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance systems, corrective action methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to investigate quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Experience utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and provide meaningful trend analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, customers, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain documentation systems and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Working knowledge of supplier quality and customer quality management processes.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement activities and drive quality‑focused initiatives.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) manufacturing.
  • Experience conducting RCCA investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of IPC standards, AS9100, ISO 9001, or other applicable quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting customer audits, supplier quality initiatives, and Quality Business Reviews.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, and manufacturing quality planning.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience preferred.
