Our Purpose

In our CQXM RPA Lab Department at Medtronic, plc, we support complaint handling activities, returned product analysis, and complaint investigation for a wide range of Medtronic products to meet customer and patient needs daily. Our focus is on maintaining high quality standards to achieve business and performance goals. The Quality Engineer role is vital in supporting department metrics, contributing to our global strategy, and supporting post-market activities of products that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

A Day in The Life Of:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Working within a team environment and building relationships across the organization, external suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Overseeing laboratory duties related to complaint analysis and investigation, including receipt, decontamination, and documentation of incoming complaint devices.
  • Coordinating cross-functional activities in investigating customer complaints and determining root causes.
  • Communicating key information, including escalation of quality issues, to management and quality teams to ensure full engagement and alignment.
  • Developing, modifying, and maintaining quality standards and protocols for new product launches or lab transfers, ensuring CQXM requirements are included.
  • Designing or specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment, and performing maintenance and calibration.
  • Ensuring corrective measures meet reliability standards and documentation compliance.
  • Participating in preparing, reviewing, and approving CAPAs and investigations, providing technical direction.
  • Developing training plans for analyst versatility and onboarding.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable procedures and regulations.
  • Supporting audit preparations and activities, maintaining quality standards.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, with enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Good communication, organizational, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, products, design, or post-market/complaints experience is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
