Job Summary
The Quality Engineer II is responsible for maintaining SiTime’s Quality Management System used in the design and manufacturing of SiTime’s revolutionary MEMS-based timing products. Responsibilities include maintaining processes such as internal audits, corrective actions, continuous improvements, non-conforming processes, customer notifications, and other quality processes tied to a robust quality management system. It is not necessary to meet all job requirements to be a qualified candidate for the position.
Responsibilities
- Own the quality management system and maintain quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001) for the organization.
- Prepare for compliance with other industry standards like IATF 16949 and MIL PRF 55310 (as applicable).
- Manage document and record control processes (using existing tools).
- Work with Doc Control software providers to enhance functionality. Create and execute transfer plans post-validation.
- Create internal audit plans across all offices, perform audits, and track findings to closure.
- Develop training modules for internal teams on ISO 9001 standards, internal audits, corrective actions, FMEAs, PPAPs, etc., to promote self-learning and recurring training.
- Manage customer notification processes (PCNs) for product/process changes, from creation to shipment and confirmation from customers that the updates are issue-free.
- Use customer requirements, JEDEC, and AECQ guidelines.
- Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to ensure a robust process for non-conforming products.
- Manage non-conformance identification to closure, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Champion internal and supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement processes.
- Re-validate the effectiveness of actions taken after implementation (e.g., after 3 or 6 months).
- Create and maintain process metrics (PCNs, CA/CI, IA, MRB, etc.) and make data-driven decisions.
- Select metrics based on pain points and industry benchmarks.
- Create impactful presentations to identify trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and track improvement activities, ensuring post-implementation effectiveness.
- Automate internal processes supporting the QMS to improve efficiency.
- Develop methods to automate information sharing on SiTime’s website through cross-functional collaboration.
- Own all KPIs for operations.
- Monitor relevant metrics.
- Work with process owners to set goals, identify gaps, and track actions to closure.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in electrical engineering, quality, or a related technical field.
- Background in semiconductor manufacturing processes is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in quality management systems.
- Knowledge of CMOS and MEMS devices is advantageous.
- Expertise in ISO 9001 and relevant JEDEC standards; familiarity with IATF 16949 is a plus.
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, Is/Is-Not analysis).
