Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive project quality across assigned scopes and collaborate with senior managers on larger projects. You will implement the Quality Management Plan, oversee inspections, and coordinate with subcontractors and testing agencies to ensure compliance with contract documents.

You will develop talent, train field engineers, and lead corrective actions while fostering teamwork and diverse working relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or related degree by summer 2027.
• Minimum one year of experience within design, engineering, or construction industry.
• Willingness to be mobile/relocate frequently for project assignments.
• Possess a current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Drive business results for assigned scopes and project quality.
• Implement Quality Management Plan and system from notice to proceed through customer acceptance.
• Prepare/review coordination drawings and manage subcontractor scope interpretations.
• Oversee quality inspections and identify non-conformances with contract documents.
• Lead 3-Phase Inspection Process and corrective actions for assigned work.
• Coordinate 3rd party testing agencies and manage NCNs and RFIs.
• Assist with critical lift plans and participate in Kaizen/process improvements.
• Manage portions of Quality Management Plan for small to medium projects.
