Job summary

Phoenix Defense, LLC. is seeking a Quality Engineer to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure products meet specifications and standards. You will lead quality improvement projects, perform audits, and drive supplier quality initiatives.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences, 1–3 years in aerospace manufacturing, and strong analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and quality systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or logistics.
• 1–3 years’ experience in Aerospace Manufacturing.
• Excellent statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.
• Working knowledge of quality control standards and government compliance.
• Experience with manufacturing and production processes and engineering principles.
• Skilled in the use of all types of measuring equipment, such as scales, calipers, micrometers, hand tools.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, due dates and general procedures to follow.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional correspondence, policies, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the suppliers.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Support cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of quality improvement projects with a focus on overall process improvements, scrap reduction and supplier quality improvement.
• Support Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the customer and the quality management system.
• Perform Quality Audits to determine the effectiveness of the Quality Program and prepare audit reports.
• Analyze quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical tools and methods data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
• Review incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
• Conduct tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues.
• Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct supplier audits.
• Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Maintain detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws.
• Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for internal and customer non-conformances.
• Assist disposition process by conducting failure analysis and suggest corrective actions as Material Review Board member.
• Assist with manufacturing scrap performance evaluation and management.
• Other duties as assigned.
