We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support an aerospace manufacturing operation. This position will ensure that products and manufacturing processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
The Quality Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve quality issues, improve processes, reduce defects, and maintain compliance with aerospace industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer quality clauses
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other problem-solving methods
- Develop and manage corrective and preventive actions, including customer and supplier CARs
- Prepare, review, and approve First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102
- Support MRB activities and determine appropriate dispositions for nonconforming material
- Investigate internal and customer-reported quality issues
- Develop inspection plans, control plans, procedures, and work instructions
- Perform process capability studies, data analysis, and statistical process control
- Participate in PFMEA, risk analysis, and new-product introduction activities
- Support internal, customer, supplier, and regulatory audits
- Monitor quality metrics and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and recurring defects
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality and delivery concerns
- Provide quality support throughout manufacturing, assembly, testing, and final inspection
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
- Three or more years of quality engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and AS9102 requirements
- Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective actions, MRB, FAI, and audit support
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
- Knowledge of inspection methods, measurement equipment, and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality or ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or similar certification
- Experience with NADCAP‑controlled processes
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, and process capability analysis
- Experience supporting machining, composites, sheet metal, welding, assembly, or special processes
- Familiarity with FAA, ITAR, and Export Administration Regulations
