Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Review and revise quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in Management Review activities and quality metrics reporting.
  • Provide daily support to production to resolve quality concerns.
  • Review manufacturing documentation for compliance prior to release.
  • Verify implementation of process controls and inspection requirements.
  • Lead First Article Inspection (AS9102) activities and ensure drawings are met.
  • Interface with customers regarding quality concerns and maintain records.

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements, and driving continuous improvement throughout manufacturing operations. This position works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Customers to resolve quality issues, perform root cause investigations, and ensure products meet all contractual and technical requirements.

The Quality Engineer supports compliance with AS9100, customer‑specific requirements (including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Collins Aerospace), and applicable aerospace standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Management System
  • Support and maintain compliance with AS9100 and customer quality requirements.
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third‑party audits.
  • Review and revise quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Monitor effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in Management Review activities and quality metric reporting.
Manufacturing Support
  • Provide daily support to production to resolve quality concerns.
  • Review manufacturing documentation for compliance prior to release.
  • Verify implementation of process controls and inspection requirements.
  • Support First Article Inspection (AS9102) activities.
  • Ensure manufacturing complies with engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Corrective Action
  • Lead root cause investigations using methods such as:
    • 5 Why
    • Fishbone Diagram
    • 8D
    • Corrective Action Reports
  • Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Coordinate responses to customer corrective actions.
Customer and Supplier Quality
  • Interface with customers regarding quality concerns.
  • Review customer specifications and quality clauses.
  • Support supplier quality evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Assist Purchasing with supplier qualification and performance monitoring
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Prepare quality reports and presentations.
  • Analyze quality trends using KPI metrics.
  • Maintain inspection plans and quality documentation.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Support reduction of scrap, rework, and customer escapes.
Aerospace Compliance Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer shall support compliance with:

  • AS9100 Quality Management System
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection
  • Boeing BAC5114 requirements (when applicable)
  • Boeing D6-51991 Digital Product Definition requirements
  • Boeing customer‑specific requirements
  • Lockheed Martin requirements
  • Northrop Grumman requirements
  • Collins Aerospace requirements
  • NADCAP requirements (where applicable)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Boeing Defense Programs and Lockheed Martin
  • AS9100 Internal Auditor certification
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection
  • Experience with ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred)
  • Experience using CMM/FARO inspection systems
  • Knowledge of Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop, or Collins quality requirements
  • Experience supporting NADCAP or customer audits
