Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support manufacturing operations in Atlanta, GA. This full-time, on-site contract role focuses on ensuring products and processes meet quality, regulatory, and business requirements.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and cross-functional partners to investigate quality issues, maintain the Quality System, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, or related technical field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related area.
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Quality Engineering support for day-to-day manufacturing operations and production activities.
  • Review manufacturing docs and records for compliance with procedures, specs, and quality requirements.
  • Identify, document, investigate, and resolve manufacturing quality issues.
  • Initiate and support Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) and related quality records.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and assist corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support process changes, validations, qualifications, and CI initiatives.
  • Assist with audit readiness and participate in internal/external audits as needed.
  • Ensure activities align with Quality System and regulatory standards.

Job Title: Quality Engineer IJob Description

The Quality Engineer I supports manufacturing operations by ensuring that products and processes consistently meet quality, regulatory, and business requirements. This role collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional partners to support day-to-day production, investigate quality issues, maintain compliance with the Quality System, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality Engineering support for day-to-day manufacturing operations and production activities.

  • Review manufacturing documentation and records to verify compliance with approved procedures, specifications, and quality requirements.

  • Support the identification, documentation, investigation, and resolution of manufacturing quality issues.

  • Initiate and support Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMRs) and other quality records, including investigation and disposition activities.

  • Participate in root cause investigations and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support manufacturing process changes, validations, qualifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support audit and inspection readiness and assist with internal and external audit activities as needed.

  • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with applicable procedures, Quality System requirements, and regulatory standards.

  • Perform other Quality Engineering responsibilities as assigned to meet operational and quality objectives.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, or another related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.

  • 02 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or another related technical field.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound decisions using available data.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-based manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability and willingness to learn manufacturing processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Foundational knowledge of quality engineering principles in a manufacturing context.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.

  • Experience or coursework related to Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Familiarity with nonconforming material processes and quality documentation.

  • Exposure to root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action methodologies.

  • Comfort working with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta with typical hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position operates in a team-based manufacturing environment within a heart failure-focused department, where collaboration with engineering and operations teams is central to daily work. The role involves working in a regulated setting that follows established quality systems and procedures, with a strong emphasis on compliance, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
