The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and driving quality excellence across sheet metal and coil manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key resource for quality improvement initiatives, ensuring products consistently meet customer requirements while supporting business objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, analyze quality performance data, identify improvement opportunities, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for AHU fabrication and assembly operations. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards. Perform first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections of sheet metal components and/or coil assemblies. Utilize precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify product conformance. Investigate nonconforming material, identify root causes of defects, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and process performance. Create and maintain inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation. Monitor production quality metrics and analyze trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations, audits, and corrective action follow-up. Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party audits to ensure compliance with quality management system requirements. Apply quality tools such as A3 PST, 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, SPC, PFMEA, and MSA to drive process improvements. Verify compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. Participate in new product introduction activities, including process reviews, risk assessments, and production readiness evaluations. Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and implement effective containment actions. Ensure inspection equipment remains compliant and operational. Prepare and present quality reports, inspection findings, and corrective action status updates to management and customers. Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,000-105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
