Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Quality Engineer for the day shift at our Sioux Falls, SD site. You will lead quality initiatives, oversee testing, and partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and PI&D to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field, 3+ years in quality roles, and familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and Lean/Six Sigma. The role offers a robust Total Rewards package including health benefits and retirement plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial, Chemical, or related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years in Quality Engineering, Food Safety & Quality, Manufacturing Quality Systems, or Continuous Improvement.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience strongly preferred.
Food manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong understanding of food science principles and manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and SPC.
Understanding of production operations within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise testing procedures to ensure analytical methods and quality standards are followed.
Establish and maintain sampling programs for in-process and finished products.
Monitor quality data daily and troubleshoot product quality issues.
Maintain records of testing activities and communicate results to management.
Lead quality improvement projects and cross-functional collaboration.
