Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking a Quality Engineer for Day Shift to lead analytical testing, sampling programs, and root-cause analysis across our new Sioux Falls facility.

You will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and PI&D teams to drive product quality, food safety compliance, and process improvements while supervising and coaching team members. A strong background in HACCP, GMPs, SPC, and data-driven decision making is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of related Quality Engineering experience.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience preferred.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise testing procedures to ensure methods and quality standards are followed.
• Establish and maintain sampling programs for in-process and finished products.
• Monitor quality data daily and troubleshoot quality and food safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate results to management.
• Lead training on HACCP, GMPs, and quality systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
• Oversee corrective actions and dispositions for non-conforming products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
