Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring a Quality Engineer for day shift to improve food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance at a new Sioux Falls facility. You will partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and PI&D to identify opportunities, lead improvements, and ensure adherence to company standards.

The role requires a technical degree and 3+ years in quality or manufacturing quality systems, with Six Sigma and HACCP knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Quality Engineering, Food Safety & Quality, Manufacturing Quality Systems, or Continuous Improvement.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or experience strongly preferred.
Food manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong understanding of statistics and SPC.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

Supervise testing procedures and ensure analytical methods and quality standards are followed.
Establish and maintain sampling programs for in-process and finished products.
Monitor quality and food safety data daily and troubleshoot issues.
Lead quality improvement projects from conception through implementation with measurable results.
Coordinate and facilitate training on HACCP, GMPs, food regulations and quality system execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and drive corrective actions.
