Job summary
Tempur Sealy is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen foam quality and drive optimization across manufacturing. You will apply analytical methods, lead scrap reduction, and support problem solving with production teams.
The role involves contributing to new product/process development and Safe Launch plans. Applicants should have a engineering degree with 1–2 years of related experience, strong statistics familiarity, and Lean/Six Sigma know-how.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 1–2 years related experience.
- Business acumen and partnership to Operations.
- Strong math skills incl. probability and statistics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Experience with 5S, Lean and Six Sigma; Green Belt preferred.
- Minitab or JMP experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Apply analytical tools to improve foam quality and reduce variation.
- Analyze scrap costs and lead reduction projects.
- Support technicians to address production issues via problem solving.
- Contribute to New product/process development and Safe Launch plans.
- Track supplier performance to improve incoming quality.
- Inspect products and conduct audits for conformance.
- Perform weekly CTQ audits and report improvements.
- Share best practices across TPVAs and TPIN facilities.
- Assist in lab testing and equipment maintenance.
