Job summary

Tempur Sealy, a leading bedding designer and manufacturer, seeks a Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement professional. You will lead cross-site projects, act as a process SME, and drive end-to-end improvements using value stream mapping and standardized work.

The role requires expertise in Lean, TPS concepts, and plant layout tools (Visio, AutoCAD), with strong problem-solving skills. Travel is substantial, focused within the US, and experience in mattress/furniture manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement experience.
• Mattress/Furniture manufacturing experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Visio for value stream maps and process maps.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD for plant layouts.
• Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
• TPS training or exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-wide projects impacting multiple sites and teams; define scope, deliverables, progress, and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Serve as Sealy Manufacturing Process SME in cross-functional teams; implement improvements.
• Perform plant assessments, create action plans, and coach teams for sustainment.
• Facilitate Plan & Review sessions with local plant teams to set short-term improvement strategies.
• Identify and present best practices to achieve standardization and tracking progress.
• Create and maintain Value Stream Maps / Material and Information Flow Charts and align on holistic improvement plans.
• Create training materials and give trainings on Lean topics via in-person or Teams sessions.
• Keep management and plant teams informed with project progress and updates.
• Travel 50-60%, mainly within the United States; occasional travel outside may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
