Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation in Hanover, PA is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide quality engineering support for a designated function/product. You will establish quality metrics, drive improvement activities, and serve as the focal point for defect notifications from customers, field teams, and suppliers, conducting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
• Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ) preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 auditor certification preferred.
• Elevator industry experience preferred.
• Quality function experience in Elevator/Escalator industry.
• Knowledge of Quality Systems Requirements (ISO, TS, AS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Use the SPSP/8-D process to identify root cause, containment and corrective actions.
• Assist internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance and verify corrective actions.
• Identify continuous improvement projects to reduce defects and field quality claims.
• Interact with customers and suppliers to resolve problems.
• Report quality status with defined group scorecard and KPIs.
• Provide technical direction on inspection methods to inspectors and manufacturing teams.
• Detect and communicate supplier quality issues to Supplier Development, Procurement and suppliers.
• Support third party audits and address areas of concern.
