Job summary

General Motors in Orion, MI is seeking a Quality Engineer for Electrical Modules to serve as the main point of contact for module and software concerns impacting the assembly plant. You will interface with suppliers and engineering to resolve issues and manage related processes.

The role requires 3+ years in automotive electrical subsystems, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to quickly make decisions. Onsite work with potential relocation benefits is available.

• Ability to root-cause highly complex issues and translate technical updates for non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of GMS/BIQ4 deliverables and GEPICs/SPR relation to software release.

Responsibilities

• Act as single point of contact for module and software concerns affecting the assembly plant.
• Coordinate issue resolution with suppliers and engineering.
• Write SPPS/PRTS for software/module issues identified by diagnostician.
• Ensure TWO/EWO breakpoints are executed correctly with CIC Coordinator.
• Manage VeSCom releases after launch in collaboration with Electrical Team.
• Track and resolve module scrap and defective parts.
• Maintain supplier module tester list and containment of defects.
• Support Electrical sufficiency and all Electrical BoO elements.
• Improve programming metrics to support First-time quality goals of 94.5%.
• Perform testing file provision (snapshot, fault file, Vehicle Spy Log Files).
• Assist DRR and BIQ4 targets with programming improvements.
