Job summary

Northrop Grumman Radford, VA location, is seeking a Quality professional to develop and maintain quality evaluation systems for production of 25MM, LW30, 30MM and 50MM ammunition. The role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing to ensure quality standards are in place and drives customer satisfaction through robust readiness reviews.

The job requires a STEM degree with 2 years’ experience or a master's in STEM, strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years’ experience OR a master’s degree in a STEM field.
• Ability to solve complex problems by evaluating information and data.
• Attention to details and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
• Manage contract and production readiness reviews to drive customer satisfaction.
• Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
• Conduct Root Cause investigations and ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
• Identify and communicate customer requirements through understanding technical data packages, such as specifications and drawings.
• Work with customers to complete technical documentation, equipment prove-outs and escape product escapes.
• May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
