Job summary

MSI Defense Solutions in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality systems, processes, and compliance across manufacturing and inspection activities, ensuring products meet customer requirements and standards.

You will collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Program Management, suppliers, and government representatives; perform root cause analysis, support First Article Inspections, and drive corrective actions in a hands-on shop-floor environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing quality environment.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Ability to read GD&T, engineering drawings and specs.
Experience with nonconforming material control and corrective actions.
Proficient with Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality processes, procedures, and work instructions, inspection methods, and quality documentation.
Review drawings, specifications, data packets, purchase orders, contracts, and flowdown requirements.
Provide technical support to inspections, production, engineering, supply chain, and program management to resolve questions.
Develop inspection plans, quality control plans, and criteria based on drawings and requirements.
Support First Article Inspection documentation and nonconforming material handling.
Lead corrective action activities including containment, root cause analysis, and effectiveness verification.
Coordinate supplier quality activities and participate in audits and supplier programs.
Monitor processes to identify quality improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
