General Motors Company in Toledo, OH is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive built‑in quality in production and new launches. You will partner with operations, engineering, and suppliers to prevent defects, implement robust corrective actions, and monitor key metrics.

Responsibilities include problem solving with 5‑Why/8D methods, PPAP participation, and developing control plans. The role requires an engineering degree, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team of hourly QA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering.
• Structured problem‑solving methods (5-Why, 8D/PPS) and corrective action.
• Knowledge of core quality tools: control plans, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specs, standards.
• Strong analytical skills with data‑driven recommendations.
• Collaborates effectively across operations, engineering, maintenance, suppliers.
• Clear written and verbal communication; multi‑priority management.

Responsabilités

• Lead day‑to‑day quality support for production, solving issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor quality metrics (PPM/IPPM, FTQ, CPV, customer feedback) and identify trends.
• Facilitate 5‑Why, fishbone, PPS/8D problem solving and ensure containment and root cause actions.
• Drive BIQ practices, error‑proofing, standardized work, and layered process audits.
• Support PPAP, run‑at‑rate, and change management for launches and updates.
• Collaborate with suppliers and SQE on containment and durable corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain control plans; manage reaction plans for key characteristics.
• Lead investigations into customer concerns, warranty, and field issues; drive improvements.
• Maintain quality documentation in line with QMS and regulatory requirements.
• Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement in assigned areas.
• Lead Hourly UAW Quality Team Members as required.
