Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in Berkeley, MO is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team and drive quality across proposals and programs. You will interpret requirements, develop metrics, and support supplier qualification while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.

Required BS in a relevant field and 1+ year in NCR, blueprint reading, RCCA, and QMS. Travel up to 10%; relocation not included. This role offers growth within a global aerospace leader.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 1+ years of NCR (Non-conformance) experience.
  • 1+ years reading engineering blueprints/drawings.
  • 1+ years RCCA methods.
  • 1+ years QMS exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality on team activities to integrate QMS requirements into proposals and processes.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics and certification plans for small programs.
  • Conducts capability assessments and supports supplier selection.
  • Participates in reviews to ensure quality attributes in designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits for manufacturing readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Conducts RCCA and CAPA activities.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions and supports APQP activities.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Conducts RCCA and CAPA activities
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities
  • Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
  • 1+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team environment including peers, leadership, and customers
  • Experience with AS9102 (FAI) First Article Inspection, AS9145, and AS6500
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range:

  • Associate, Level 2: $83,300 - $112,700
  • Experienced, Level 3: $100,300 - $135,700
