Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join Boeing Defense, Space & Security. You will represent the Quality function on project teams, interpreting requirements and ensuring conformance to the Boeing Quality Management System.

You will develop quality metrics, perform RCCA, CAPA activities, support APQP, and coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams. A Bachelor of Science and at least 1 year of NCR, RCCA, and QMS experience are required.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of NCR processes experience.
  • 1+ years reading engineering blueprints/drawings.
  • 1+ years RCCA and corrective action methods.
  • 1+ years in Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality on teams to integrate QMS requirements into proposals and processes.
  • Interprets requirements and develops quality metrics and certification plans.
  • Conducts capability assessments and supports supplier selection activities.
  • Performs RCCA, CAPA activities and analyzes non-conformance trends.
  • Supports APQP activities and ensures conformance to design and fabrication needs.
  • Leads or participates in reviews to embed quality attributes in designs.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Conducts RCCA and CAPA activities
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Supports Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities
  • Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes
  • 1+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings
  • 1+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretationAbility to work with a cross functional team environment including peers, leadership, and customers
  • Experience with AS9102 (FAI) First Article Inspection, AS9145, and AS6500
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range:

Associate, Level 2: $83,300 - $112,700

Experienced, Level 3: $100,300 - $135,700
