Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to advance AI-driven testing for mission-critical applications. You will design and maintain test automation frameworks in Java and Python, and perform API and database testing while owning quality for features from requirements through release.

This role requires collaboration with product managers and developers, familiarity with CI/CD, and exposure to AI fairness/testing. Start date August 2026 with relocation to major U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts and frameworks using Java and Python.
• Familiarity with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered apps such as chatbots or AI/ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features and components from requirements to release.
• Track testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM and understand CI/CD concepts.
• Implement AI/ML testing for chatbots and AI-powered systems.
