Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to advance AI-driven testing across its mission-critical applications. You will design automation frameworks in Java and Python, perform API and DB testing, and collaborate with product and dev teams to ensure quality across features. The role emphasizes AI/ML test plans and modern tooling in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with CI/CD, JIRA, and cloud basics while contributing to fairness and reliability in AI-powered systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional QA/Quality Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts in Java and Python.
• Familiar with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications such as chatbots/AI systems.
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.
• Exposure to performance testing tools and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing, validate endpoints, and work with Swagger YAML, Postman, or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Own quality for features and collaborate with product and development teams.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD concepts.
• Develop and execute tests for AI/ML applications, including chatbots and bias checks.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance testing efficiency and bug report summarization.
