Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a driven Quality Engineer to join its Quality Engineering & Assurance team in the United States. The role focuses on AI-driven testing for mission-critical intelligent applications, building scalable automation in Java and Python, and validating APIs, databases, and AI components.

You will work with product and development teams to create test plans, execute comprehensive test suites, and report progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance/Engineering.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation scripts using Java and Python.
• Familiarity with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered applications, such as chatbots or AI/ML systems.
• Experience with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Basic cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Perform API testing and validate endpoints with Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct database testing with SQL queries to verify data integrity.
• Own quality for assigned features: write test cases, execute test suites, and sign off.
• Track and report testing progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM.
• Implement and execute test plans for AI/ML applications including chatbots.
• Leverage modern AI tools to accelerate test script development and data generation.
• Ensure AI reliability, fairness, and model robustness.
