Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Quality Engineer to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facility – South near Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on applying modern quality principles to aerospace manufacturing, with responsibility for process improvements and project management in a high‑stakes environment.

The position requires strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, root cause analysis, and adherence to AS9100.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Advanced GD&T knowledge and datums, MMC, circularity, cylindricity, runout, FCFs.
Experience with SPC and Lean/Six Sigma in aerospace/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Create plans for developing and/or transferring manufacturing operations between facilities.
Apply quality principles, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools to aerospace operations.
Analyze defect data and implement data‑driven corrective actions.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for compliance.
Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for non‑conformances.
Implement AS9100 requirements into standard work.
