Job Responsibilities:
  1. Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols
  2. Provides explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and/or technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes
  3. Provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products and processes
  4. Utilizes PPAP core elements (e.g., PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify risk in product development and propose risk management solutions
  5. Provides reviews and ensure requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
  6. Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts
  7. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products
  8. Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product. Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect
  9. Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation
  10. Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers
  11. Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering
  12. Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance
  13. Maintenance of data integrity (0% error rate)
  14. Designing of queries, compiling of data, and generation of reports in a dashboard
  15. Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to present findings to stakeholders
  16. In depth research of defect trends
  17. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Must have a machining background or experience
  • Familiarity with optics and electronics assemblies
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
  • 5-8 years of FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) standards at a quality engineering level.
  • Strong understanding of various Engineering Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions, Interpreting Drawing, Specifications, and GD&T
  • 5-8 years' experience hands-on experience with the ISO9100 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems Processes, especially in Production, Quality, and logistics
  • Knowledge of, (or hands-on experience preferred), with FAA, EAR, and ITAR standards and regulations
  • Experience leading customer audits
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Project management, time management, problem solving and organization
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and lead other team members
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Prior practical experience and implementation of Quality Engineering tools and systems such as: DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, APQP, PPAP, controls plans, material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology, automated measurement, and software is preferred.
General Requirements:
  • Ability to pass background and drug screen
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • Proven expertise in SQL, Tableau and Python
  • Proven experience pulling and analyzing data for root cause analysis and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Engineering/other technical positions: and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • 4+ years of Expertise in SQL, Tableau and Python
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Quality Engineer, with a focus on data analysis and quality improvement
Working Conditions:

Performance of work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction. Incumbents may participate in physical activities including light lifting, sitting for prolonged periods, and driving long distances. Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with potential for overtime and weekend work. Specific visual and physical requirements include reading printed documents, computer screens, and handling objects with occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Noise levels are moderate to high.
