Job summary

Morson Group in Greenville, SC is seeking a Contract Engineer to lead qualification activities for Gas Turbines. Onsite role for 1 year, 40 hours per week, at a rate of $48/hour (W2) plus benefits.

The position requires developing qualification standards with Global Supply Chain and Engineering, managing equipment purchases and installation, and driving cost-out opportunities while collaborating across matrix organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• 6+ years of turbine engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Program management experience preferred.
• Lean manufacturing methods experience beneficial.
• Interfacing across matrix organizations desired.
• Strong communication and quality focus required.

Responsibilities

• Create qualification standards aligned with Global Supply Chain and Engineering.
• Manage dates and scope for equipment purchases, installation, and qualification.
• Lead qualifications from inception to closure, including coatings, brazing, etc.
• Apply design/manufacturing knowledge to implement improvements and reduce costs.
• Identify and implement qualification cost-out opportunities.

Essential Functions:

• Creating Qualification standards in alignment with Global Supply Chain and Engineering
• Managing dates and scope for equipment purchases, installation, and qualification
• This position requires strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills as well as a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
• Lead qualifications from inception to closure, parts and special processes (coatings, brazing, etc.)
• Apply knowledge of design and manufacturing to implement new ideas that enhance overall qualification process, reduce cost and add value.
• Identify and implement qualification cost out opportunities
• Regional, and in some cases, global: shop support
• Cultivate positive working environment and morale; drive a sense of urgency and quality with speed

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
