Job summary

Global Edge Group in Greenville, SC seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) to support supplier quality and manufacturing activities near-shore in Greenville, SC. The role involves quality surveillance to ensure equipment and materials meet PO, engineering, quality, and industry standards.

The SQR will represent the project at supplier facilities, perform inspections, and document testing across dimensional, balance, hydro, and functional tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1,000 hours relevant in-shop experience.
• Or an Associate Degree plus 500 hours in-shop experience.
• Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, inspection, surveillance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality surveillance and inspection at supplier facilities.
• Monitor manufacturing processes for specifications and PO requirements.
• Witness and document inspections and testing, including dimensional, balance, hydro, or pressure testing.
• Review quality documentation, including material certifications, inspection/test records, NDE reports, calibration records, and manufacturing records.
• Identify, document, and follow up on nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Verify corrective actions are completed and properly documented.
• Release conforming equipment/material for shipment.
• Prepare clear and accurate quality surveillance reports.
• Communicate quality concerns and manufacturing risks to project and supplier quality teams.
• Maintain inspection, photographic, and project documentation.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) to support supplier quality and manufacturing activities in Greenville, SC. The qualified candidate must have experience in large-scale gas turbine manufacturing. Candidates with prior experience at the assigned supplier or facility are strongly preferred.

The SQR will represent the project at supplier/manufacturer facilities and perform quality surveillance to ensure equipment and materials meet applicable purchase order, engineering, quality, and industry requirements.

This position provides supplemental/backfill support for the existing Supplier Quality team. It is not expected to require continuous full-time coverage, and hours may vary based on supplier and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality surveillance and inspection activities at supplier/manufacturer facilities.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and verify compliance with specifications, drawings, codes, standards, and purchase order requirements.
• Witness and document inspections and testing, including:
• Dimensional inspections
• Balance testing
• Hydro/pressure testing
• Functional testing
• Final inspections and factory acceptance testing
• Review quality documentation, including material certifications, inspection/test records, NDE reports, calibration records, and manufacturing records.
• Identify, document, and follow up on nonconformances and corrective actions.
• Verify corrective actions are completed and properly documented.
• Release conforming equipment/material for shipment.
• Prepare clear and accurate quality surveillance reports.
• Communicate quality concerns and manufacturing risks to project and supplier quality teams.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 1,000 hours of relevant in-shop surveillance, examination, or testing experience; or an Associate Degree (or equivalent college coursework) in a related discipline plus 500 hours of relevant in-shop experience.
• Experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, inspection, surveillance, or a related field.
• Ability to independently assess quality conditions, identify nonconformances, and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel routinely to supplier facilities.
• Ability to pass required background screening and obtain/maintain applicable client, facility, or export-control access.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment and comply with required PPE and safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale gas turbine manufacturing, particularly with the assigned supplier/facility.
• Previous employment at or experience working with the assigned supplier/facility.
• Experience with large rotating equipment or power-generation equipment.
• Experience with balance, run, functional, hydro, or pressure testing.
• Experience with supplier quality surveillance and documentation.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, AWS, or other applicable industry codes and standards.
• Industry certifications such as ASNT Level II, AWS CWI, or AMPP/NACE.
• Experience supporting EPC, energy, power, LNG, nuclear, or other major industrial projects.
