Job summary

Cardinal Staffing is seeking a Quality Engineer for a well-known automotive manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH. The role focuses on quality system audits, process capability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

You will work with PFMEAs, control plans, and MSA analyses, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and robust process controls. A degree in engineering and 2–5 years of quality experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in quality engineering.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
• Experience with automotive quality systems and APQP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal audit function for the quality system.
• Use the internal audit system to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage the documentation change management system.
• Participate in cross functional teams to develop PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions, utilizing risk assessments to ensure process controls deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
• Perform MSA and capability studies of new and current gauges and equipment.
• Address quality rejects including customer-returned material.
• Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques.
• Assist with process improvements and data analysis.
• Conduct process capability studies and quality audits.
• Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews.
• Other duties as required.

Cardinal Staffing is hiring for a Quality Engineer at a well-known automotive manufacturing facility in Toledo, OH!

Schedule

1st Shift 7AM to 3PM (start and end times could fluctuate slightly) and overtime is on an as-needed basis

Starting Pay Rate: $40 per hour to start

Responsibilities

• Manage the internal audit function for the quality system
• Use the internal audit system to drive continuous improvement
• Manage the documentation change management system
• Participate in cross functional teams to develop of PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions, utilizing risk assessments to ensure process controls deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
• Perform MSA and capability studies of new and current gages and equipment.
• Address quality rejects including customer-returned material
• Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques
• Assist with process improvements and data analysis
• Conduct process capability studies and quality audits
• Conduct and participate in customer visits and reviews
• Other duties as required

Skills Required

• Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong project management skills and leadership abilities
• Proficient in the use of Minitab or other statistical analysis programs
• Proficient in the understanding of Engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
• Proficient in understanding of APQP and program management techniques

Typical Experience Required / Preferred

• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical engineering, with 2-5 years of experience required.
• Work experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with experience in the automotive industry preferred.
• Demonstrated competence in Quality related statistics.
• Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred, or attained within one year of hire/placement.
• Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
