Socket.dev seeks a Quality Engineer to oversee department activities, advise management, and ensure adherence to quality and ISO standards in a manufacturing setting.

Under the direction of senior managers, you will manage processes, lead staff, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining confidentiality and scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Must have a 4-year degree or relevant experience in the field.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient problem solving and data analysis skills.
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of drawings, blueprints and design.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process in welding, roll-forming, stamping and extrusion molding.
  • Able to maintain confidential information.
  • Able to work overtime and/or travel to customers with short notice.
  • Successful completion of role‑specific testing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee processing HTR’s, PPAP, QIP, Data Sheets PQCT and PFMEA.
  • Develop and manage continuous department profit improvement and cost reduction programs.
  • Determine and manage efficient department staffing.
  • Ensure department staff is adequately trained.
  • Investigate department outages and develop and implement appropriate countermeasures.
  • Give praise and administer disciplinary action to correct performance issues within department.
  • Develop department budget and support company business plan by meeting key plan metrics.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management.
  • Adhere to and promote policies: Safety, Quality, ISO 9000 and 14001, Associate Handbook, 5-S.

Job Title: Quality Engineer

Reports to: Supervisor of designated department

FLSA Status:Exempt

Schedule: Monday- Friday (extended hours may be required to support business needs)

Position Summary:

Under direction of the Senior Managers, Associate is responsible for managing all department activities, processes and procedures. Associate will advise management and staff on priority department issues. Associate will serve as a member of the management team and perform related duties as assigned.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
