McLaughlin Body Company in Rock Island, IL is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and implement quality assurance standards, processes, and controls. You will assess production capabilities and propose improvements, while driving ongoing quality improvements across the supply chain.
Responsibilities include establishing KPIs for zero quality claims, coordinating audits and corrective actions, and developing PPAP packages.
Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing, the Quality Engineer develops and implements quality assurance standards, processes, and controls. Develops methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training. Evaluates production capabilities and recommends improvements. May assist in developing quality assurance policies and procedures.

Duties:
Excellent verbal and professional writing skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
Technical Writing (e.g. Work Instruction/Procedures, Validation Docs)
Customer/Supplier Quality (Auditing, Problem Resolution, Corrective Action)
CQE (Certified Quality Engineer).
Hands on experience working in a welding production environment is desired
Requires bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Industrial Engineering Technology or three plus years of manufacturing experience. Applicable product knowledge preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and ISO and ASME Codes
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
