Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Quality Engineer in Norwood, MA to lead quality initiatives and collaborate with Operations, R&D, and Manufacturing on process improvements. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, Production, or a related manufacturing environment.
• ASQ certification (Engineer, Auditor, or Manager) and/or membership preferred.
• Experience with quality systems, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programs.
• Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and statistical process control.
• Experience analyzing quality and process data using Minitab, Excel, and other data analysis tools.

Job description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading quality initiatives and ensuring products manufactured at the facility meet established quality standards. This role utilizes data analysis and continuous improvement tools to enhance product performance, reduce quality-related costs, and improve manufacturing processes. The position works closely with Operations, R&D, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams to support quality systems, risk mitigation, and process improvement efforts.

Essential Duties

• Lead quality systems, audits, and compliance activities to ensure product quality standards are met.

• Manage customer claims investigations and corrective action programs.

• Monitor and analyze quality metrics and process performance data.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives using quality and statistical tools.

• Support new product introductions, trials, and quality planning activities.

• Develop and maintain quality documentation, procedures, and measurement systems.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

• 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, Production, or a related manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with quality systems, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programs.

• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and statistical process control.

• Experience analyzing quality and process data using Minitab, Excel, and other data analysis tools.

• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with Operations, R&D, Manufacturing, and other business partners.

• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• ASQ certification (Engineer, Auditor, or Manager) and/or membership in the American Society for Quality preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with frequent standing and walking.

• Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move materials.

• Ability to safely move objects up to 75 pounds with assistance and possess the visual and hearing capabilities required to safely operate in a manufacturing setting.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $81,500.00 to $126,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,650.00 to $139,150.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
