Job summary

Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the 1st shift in Minnesota. You will lead maintenance staff, drive reliability improvements, and ensure safety, quality, and cost goals are met.

Responsibilities include coordinating PMs, implementing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with EHS to meet plant objectives while supporting TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-year degree in Technical Field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Supervisory experience.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma.
• Strong problem-solving and fault analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and PM routines.
• Direct hourly maintenance staff in equipment, buildings, utilities.
• Plan and schedule projects with cross-functional teams.
• Lead TPM activities and maintain equipment ledgers.
• Ensure PMs are timely and meet quality standards.
• Review timekeeping and payroll accuracy under union contracts.

Maintenance Supervisor

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with flexibility required to support business needs

Supervises the daily activities of maintenance personnel and assists with maintenance project work as assigned. This position provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations throughout the maintenance organization. Maintenance Supervisors are held accountable to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing's Trust, Empowerment and Collaboration principles.

Key Requirements

• Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.
• Directly supervise the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, utilities, etc.
• Communicate expectations, measure and assess employee performance, provide coaching and development opportunities, and administer disciplinary action if needed.
• Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects.
• Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in the development of equipment ledgers and problem solving.
• Develops and maintains standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
• Maintains records of plant and individual equipment performance.
• Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
• Perform root-cause analysis as well as implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to maintenance.
• Supports Autonomous Maintenance through training of craftsmen and ensuring that equipment basic conditions are maintained.
• Leading contributor for improving the reliability of the production equipment.
• Ensures Preventive Maintenance (PM) is accomplished in a timely manner and to a high standard of quality.
• Work with Maintenance Manager & Planner to develop PM's that drive improved reliability.
• Reviews and approves employee timekeeping (Kronos) and ensures employees are paid the correct wages in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
• May be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.
• Conduct SMAT Audits to support the plants EHS goals.
• Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
• Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position JSA and SOP's.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $81,500 to $126,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,650 to $139,150. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guaranteed.
