The role focuses on optimizing industrial processes from design through startup, supporting CAPA initiatives and cross-functional collaboration to enhance yields and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering (co-op/internship considered).
• Experience in roofing or building materials manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency with statistical tools and data-driven problem solving.

• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through startup and stabilization.

• Provide clear process documentation, operating instructions, and training to hourly and salaried teammates.

Job description

This is an onsite role at our Norwood, MA manufacturing facility.-

The Process Engineer in our Roofing Plant supports the Production, Quality and Continuous Improvement teams with refining and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure maximum efficiency, reliability, and product quality. This role will apply engineering principles, statistical process control (SPC), and Lean methodologies to reduce variation, improve yields, minimize waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the roofing manufacturing operation.

Safety & Environmental

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture; ensure strict adherence to all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments; actively participate in incident and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Support environmental compliance through adherence to waste management, recycling responsibilities, and reporting requirements.

Process Optimization & Quality

Continuous Improvement

• Lead and support Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives to drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and throughput gains.
• Introduce and integrate new technologies, raw materials, and methods to improve efficiency and product performance.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate production trials in collaboration with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure consistent SPC deployment and process monitoring.
• Coordinate with Engineering teams on capital projects that increase the efficiency of the production line

Collaboration &; Leadership

• Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive teamwork and problem-solving.
• Mentor and coach team members in best practices for process control, quality, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with all levels of plant personnel to support various projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead site project implementations and sharing of best practices.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering (co-op/internship experience considered).
• Experience in roofing, building materials manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient in statistical tools, and data-driven problem-solving.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
• CAD/AutoCAD or process engineering software experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency:

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $81,500.00 to $126,500.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450.00 to $135,850.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
