Job summary

Weco Manufacturing Group, based in New York, seeks an experienced quality professional to maintain product flow with a focus on quality and safety at minimal cost. You will engage with customers, certification bodies, and internal teams to ensure timely responses to issues and robust containment actions.

The role covers prototype validations, 8D/CAPA leadership, supplier performance review, and internal/external audits per ISO standards. Strong reading of blueprints and gaging tools is essential.

Qualifications

• AS degree in a technical discipline preferred; certifications like ASQ/CQE are a plus.
• At least 3 years in manufacturing quality within an industrial environment.
• Experience with ISO and AS standards is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections using gaging and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer quality issues in a timely, professional manner.
• Provide on-site support to customers and certification bodies.
• Validate new project prototypes using Quality Planning tools (FAI, PPAP, Gage R&R).
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for 8D/CAPA processes and action follow-up.

Summary: To maintain a steady flow of products to internal / external Customers in a quality and safe method at minimal cost

• Customer contact and response for quality issues in a professional and time effective manner.
• On site support and service to Customers, Customer Third party representatives and any and all certification bodies.
• New project prototype validations with Customer, using Product Quality Planning tools such as FAI’s, PPAP’s, Gage R&R’s, Work Instructions, and any other appropriate tools.
• Coordinate and facilitate cross functional teams for 8D/CAPA Processes including containment, brainstorming and cause and effects and action item follow through.
• Collect and distribute Customer Quality Scorecards (Quality, Warranty, On-time delivery) and other feedback to relevant departments
• Handle and analyze Return Material Authorizations (RMA)
• Prepare Weekly/Monthly Customer Quality Status Reports
• Provide Quality Process Training and review
• Facilitate and audit 5S activities on the factory floor
• Perform Internal and External audits per ISO and/or other Quality standard requirements
• Develop incoming material control plans and coordinate with suppliers and Customers as necessary
• Perform supplier selection and Management, using APQP and PPAP methodology
• Develop and manage Supplier Performance Record.
• Assess and review Supplier Corrective Action Plans
• Conduct/Participate in MRB and lead any identified actions
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of AS degree in a technical discipline desired, ASQ, CQT or CQE preferred
• Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment as a manufacturing or Quality Professional required.
• Experience in ISO and AS preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and perform Quality Inspection with mechanical/functional gaging and test equipment
• Demonstrated use and understanding of analytical problem solving tools preferred.
• Demonstrated use and understanding of Six Sigma Techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and standards such as AWS D1.1, 1.2, EN and ISO standards desired
