Job summary

RESRG Automotive is seeking a Quality Engineer for our Morehead, KY facility to drive product quality, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing excellence. You will serve as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, engineering, and production teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements, IATF 16949 standards and internal quality expectations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, customer and supplier teams.
  • Ability to support operations in a manufacturing plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of complaints and corrective actions.
  • Lead quality investigations using structured methodologies (8D, 5 Why, RCA).
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and costs of poor quality.
  • Support and maintain compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal systems.
  • Participate in audits, launch readiness reviews, and supplier quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and SQ teams for robust controls.
  • Lead APQP activities for new launches and engineering changes with required deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain APQP tools and documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC).
  • Create and manage PPAP packages for customer approvals and launches.
  • Coordinate Safe Launch activities, containment, inspections, monitoring and corrective actions.
  • Identify non-conformities, implement corrective actions, and verify resolutions.
  • Ensure quality standards across production while driving continuous improvement.

Your Job

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving product quality, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing excellence. You will serve as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, engineering, and production teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements, IATF 16949 standards, and internal quality expectations. This role is responsible for leading quality investigations, corrective actions, APQP activities, PPAP submissions, Safe Launch execution, and continuous improvement initiatives that support successful product launches and ongoing operational performance.

What You Will Do in Your Role
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of customer complaints, quality concerns, and corrective actions.
  • Lead internal and external quality investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, customer complaints, and cost of poor quality.
  • Support and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 standards, customer-specific requirements, internal quality systems, and audit requirements.
  • Participate in customer audits, internal audits, launch readiness reviews, and supplier quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Supplier Quality teams to implement robust process controls and support successful product launches.
  • Lead APQP activities for new product launches and engineering changes, ensuring completion of all required quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain APQP core tools and documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC documentation.
  • Create, submit, and manage PPAP packages to secure customer approvals and support launch readiness.
  • Coordinate and oversee Safe Launch activities, including containment plans, enhanced inspections, launch monitoring, and corrective action implementation.
  • Support the organization's commitment to quality by identifying non-conformities, implementing corrective actions, and verifying effective resolutions.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production processes while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing quality experience.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, customer, and supplier teams.
  • Ability to support operations in a manufacturing plant environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working within an IATF 16949 environment.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and Safe Launch processes.
  • ASQ Quality Engineer certification or equivalent quality certification.
  • Experience supporting customer audits and launch readiness activities.
