Your Job

RESRG Automotive is seeking a Quality Engineering professional who is passionate about customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards throughout the product lifecycle by integrating Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies with local quality practices and supplier quality oversight. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement processes.

What you Will do in Your Role

  • Lead APQP activities to ensure timely execution of quality milestones within the gate process.
  • Develop and maintain Safe Launch Plans, Control Plans, and gage WI / R&R ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to identify and mitigate quality risks during product development.
  • Evaluate customer specifications to ensure RESRG capability to meet and maintain. Elevate any risks that are identified.
  • Lead appearance approval process and establish internal / external boundary samples.
  • Compile and submit all PPAP documentation (customer and intercompany).

Production Quality Oversight:

  • Monitor and analyze local quality performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures (LPAs, IATF internal audits, Customer Specific Requirements, etc.)
  • Act as the primary contact for local quality issues, providing timely support and resolution.
  • Data-driven approach to COQ improvement.

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Oversee supplier quality performance by issuing SCARS, conducting audits, assessments, and evaluations based on risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, ensure cost recovery, implement corrective actions, and audit effectiveness.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier quality.
  • Track and support supplier readiness from program sourcing until PPAP, anticipating and addressing issues early and ensuring quality requirements are met.
  • Lead PPAP process with supplier, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with quality standards. Coordinate with suppliers and CFT to gather necessary documentation and issue PSW approval.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster effective communication between external customers, launch teams, local operations, and suppliers to ensure alignment of quality objectives.
  • Facilitate training sessions for local staff on quality practices, APQP methodologies, and supplier quality management.
  • Proactively seek and share best practices related to quality performance.
  • Build strong customer relationships (face to SQE/STA).

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of quality activities, including but not limited to inspection reports, supplier PPAP, non-conformance reports, control plans, and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, risk and improvement initiatives.
  • Adherence to the latest revision of ISO / TS / VDA.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in APQP, local quality practices, and supplier quality management.
  • Utilize quality tools such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Process Control to drive improvements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality engineering within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan development and implementation
  • IATF 16949, ISO9004 and customer specific quality standards application experience
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis using 5-Why, Fishboan (Ishikawa), or 8D methodologies
  • Understanding and use of tools such as SPC, gage R&R, and capability studies

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in data analysis and quality methodologies, including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Experience in using quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, and problem-solving frameworks (e.g., 8D, DMAIC)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements.
