AAON seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support design and development of HVAC components and systems. You will perform calculations, create drawings, and assist with prototype testing and validation to drive performance and reliability.

The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for supporting the design, development, and improvement of HVAC systems and components to meet performance, quality, and cost objectives. This role contributes to organizational objectives by assisting with product development, engineering analysis, testing, and manufacturing support activities. The position works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to develop reliable and innovative products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a foundational engineering position focused on technical development, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; 0+ years of experience in engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical field, Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
Perform work primarily in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. Regular interaction with engineering, production, and quality teams. Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions. Compliance with all company policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when visiting manufacturing or testing areas.
