Job summary

RIDE Mobility is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure incoming parts and internal components meet stringent quality standards. You will drive root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support new product introductions to ensure robust builds.

Applicant should have a Bachelor's in Automotive Engineering and at least 3 years in quality engineering. Expect work in a manufacturing setting with a focus on defect prevention, KPIs, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or similar is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a quality engineer.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, lean manufacturing, and ISO 9001 principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure products meet quality standards to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and raise quality issues for rapid resolution to minimize customer impact.
  • Support new product introductions to ensure robust product builds.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Conduct product and process audits and maintain control plans and documentation.
  • Monitor KPIs (scrap, rework, pass rate) and stop production for unacceptable quality.

Summary

QE is responsible for ensuring incoming parts from supply chain companies and internally produced components/vehicles meet the quality standards and systems required.



Job Description


  • Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.

  • Ensure incoming materials meet required quality standards. Responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and for speedily resolving them to ensure zero impact on the customer.

  • Support new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds.

  • Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.

  • Work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.

  • General and Task Management. Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g. internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty). Identify the root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.

  • Carry out product and process auditing. Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.

  • Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, pass rate. Stop production in the event of the manufacture of unacceptable goods/processes.

  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001). Write product inspection procedures. Assist with training of quality awareness.

  • Lead quality audits. Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.

  • Quality control of work by appropriate reviews. Support and lead process improvement activities. Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients. Produce written reports and make presentations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelors Degree in Automotive Engineering or similar majors.

  • Minimum 3 years work experience as quality engineer

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to manage project timelines.
