Job summary

Astemo Ltd. in the United States is seeking a quality/CI engineer to support manufacturing quality improvements and process optimization.

You will lead cross-functional teams to investigate root causes of customer line claims and implement ICAs and PCAs, while maintaining adherence to PPE and safety rules. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 1–3 years of related manufacturing experience, and strong problem-solving skills (8D, SPC, GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Provides updates to Customer QE on status of improvement items.
• Ensures action items have clear timelines and are tracked to completion.
• Prepares and distributes daily/weekly/monthly management reports.
• Tracks continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs.

• Always operate in a safe manner, following all company rules including 100% adherence to PPE
• Develops, evaluates, and improves methods while emphasizing the implementation of quality, efficiency, process, costing, and equipment improvements
• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate root cause of Customer Line Claims found through part returns to eliminate the root cause and establish ICAs and PCAs
• Observes and assists higher level Engineers in resolving problematic issues related to specific areas of technology, equipment and processes
• Provide continuous updates to Customer QE pertaining to status of current Customer improvement items
• Ensure manufacturing facilities establish clear and concise timelines for when action items will be implemented and ensure they work towards meeting these timelines
• Prepare and distribute Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports to the management
• Track continuous improvement through measurable reports/graphs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring Compliance to all Quality related Customer and Internal requirements
• Preference to Certification in formal problem-solving methodologies
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction is required as are strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with PCs and application software, such as MS Office tools is required

Education

Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience

Experience

• 1-3 years prior manufacturing related experience preferred
• Working experience with problem solving tools, SPC, GD&T, and 8D
• Previous working experience with Automotive Quality Operating Systems

Physical Demands

• Required to sit or stand for long periods of time
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work 40-60 hours per week, including weekends and holiday work as required

Up to 5% domestic and international may be required as needed
