Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and improve quality systems and manufacturing processes. The role partners with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify quality concerns, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving methodologies, contributing to process

  • Experience with PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, and problem-solving tools.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate product and process quality concerns on the floor.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and implement CAPAs.
  • Manage customer complaints, nonconforming material and supplier issues.
  • Prepare 8D, 5-Why and fishbone analyses and corrective actions.
  • Develop control plans, inspection standards, and process docs.
  • Participate in PFMEA for new/existing processes.
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive improvements to reduce defects.
  • Support audits and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Train staff on quality requirements and problem-solving.

Quality EngineerPosition SummaryThe Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving quality systems, manufacturing processes, and product performance. This position will partner with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify quality concerns, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of quality tools, root-cause analysis, process control, and corrective action systems.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport daily manufacturing operations by investigating product and process quality concerns.Lead root-cause investigations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.Manage customer complaints, nonconforming material, internal quality issues, and supplier-related concerns.Prepare and maintain corrective action documentation, including 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analysis.Develop and maintain control plans, inspection standards, process documentation, and quality procedures.Participate in or lead PFMEA activities for new and existing manufacturing processes.Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and customer complaints.Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve process capability and product consistency.Support new product introductions, process changes, equipment installations, and product launches.Conduct process audits, product audits, and quality system audits.Assist with customer and third-party audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on time.Evaluate supplier performance and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection requirements.Develop and analyze statistical process control data and process capability studies.Ensure compliance with applicable customer requirements, quality standards, and company procedures.Train employees on quality requirements, inspection methods, and problem-solving techniques.Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.Two or more years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Strong knowledge of root-cause analysis, corrective actions, process improvement, and quality systems.Experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, capability studies, 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analysis.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical documentation.Familiarity with inspection equipment and measurement techniques.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality or manufacturing software systems.Preferred QualificationsExperience in automotive, aerospace, heavy industrial, metal fabrication, machining, assembly, or another regulated manufacturing environment.Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or a similar quality management system.Experience supporting APQP, PPAP, new product launches, and supplier quality activities.Internal auditor, Six Sigma, or ASQ certification.Experience with coordinate measuring machines, gauges, and other precision measurement equipment.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment.
