Job description

Our client is a world-leading composites manufacturer and a Critical Supplier to the U.S. Navy's Industrial Base, designing and manufacturing specialized composite products that support the submarine fleet and amphibious programs - from new construction through fleet maintenance. It's an agile, AS9100-certified company with a strong backlog of work across multiple platforms, where engineers stay involved from concept through delivery without the red tape of a large corporate structure.

The Role

We're hiring a Quality Engineer II to support program quality across Integrated Product Teams (Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Logistics, and Production). You'll drive quality deliverables on multiple small-to-medium programs - reviewing drawings and specs, building quality plans and inspection procedures, and ensuring Objective Quality Evidence packages meet contractual requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Own program quality responsibilities across multiple projects
  • Develop Traceability Matrices, Program Quality Plans, Inspection Plans, and OQE packages
  • Partner with engineering on Manufacturing Work Instructions (MIPs)
  • Provide quality input on proposals, schedules, and budgets
  • Participate across the full production lifecycle - drawing reviews, requirements matrices, tooling, procurement, work instructions, machining, and inspection
  • Interface directly with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Lead internal audits and support third-party QMS audits and source inspections
  • Lead root cause and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) investigations
  • Recommend process improvements to strengthen quality control

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Composites, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Chemical, Aerospace, Naval Architecture, or related engineering field (or equivalent combination of education and 3–6 years' experience)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required (ITAR-controlled role)

Nice to Have

  • Quality Engineering / Quality Management Systems experience (AS9100 or ISO 9001)
  • SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Health insurance with low deductible/out-of-pocket costs
  • 401(k) with 100% match up to 5% of total compensation
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Life insurance
  • 120 hours PTO starting, plus 8+ paid holidays and paid plant closure between Christmas and New Year's
  • Paid leave for adverse weather events and bereavement

Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Candidates must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
