Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Quality Engineer for a prominent client in Gastonia, NC. This is a 100% onsite W2 contract position for 1 year with potential extension or conversion.

Responsibilities include hands-on incoming/material inspection in a sheet-metal manufacturing environment, supplier quality oversight, defect documentation, and driving RCA/corrective actions on rejected shipments. Bachelors with 2–3+ years in quality/manufacturing experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 2–3+ years in Quality/Manufacturing/Supplier Quality.
• Strong problem solving skills including RCA methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Hands-on material/incoming inspection in a sheet-metal manufacturing environment.

Job Description:

• Serve as company'squality presence at the supplier.
• Perform hands-on incoming/material inspection and problem solving in a sheet-metal manufacturing environment.
• Inspect supplier-produced parts, determiningwhether material meets drawings/specifications, documenting defects, and driving RCA/corrective action on rejected shipments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors with 2–3+ years Quality/Manufacturing/Supplier Quality experience.
• Problem solving / RCA — HARD MUST #1. 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, containment/corrective action, resolving rejected material.
• Material / incoming inspection — HARD MUST #2. Hands-on dimensional/visual inspection of supplied components, disposition/release decisions, nonconforming material.
• Sheet-metal manufacturing — HARD MUST #3. Fabrication processes such as cutting, bending/forming, punching/stamping, welding, finishing, etc.
