Job summary

A prominent staffing agency is seeking a Quality Engineer to support a manufacturing client in Whiteland, IN. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and over 5 years of supply chain experience. Responsibilities include managing quality reports, serving as a customer contact for quality issues, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This is a 1-year onsite contract position offering competitive pay of $35 to $45 per hour, with opportunities for extension or conversion.

Job Overview

The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Whiteland, IN.

Pay Range: $35 - 45/hr depending on experience

W2 Contract: 1 year with possible extension and/or conversion

Location: 100% onsite in Whiteland, IN

Responsibilities

• Apply the principles of product quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the manufacturing and installation operations of the organization.
• Serve as primary contact for customers and freight forwarders for reporting of quality issues.
• Track and publish DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) reports for shipping accuracy and quality defects.
• Manage the Customer Quality Scorecard for the distribution center.
• Ensure the 3PL partner’s accountability by driving problem solving, corrective actions for repeat and high-risk quality spills.
• Collaborate with 3PL partner on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce customer-facing quality issues.
• Coordinate between Central Customer Quality, onsite Cummins and 3PL teams in resolution of customer complaints containment activities.
• Collaborate with onsite supplier quality team for supplier quality spills reported by customers.
• Facilitate continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects, and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.
• Participate in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key measures, analyzing data for decision support, and presenting results to site leadership.
• Lead audits of processes and quality systems. Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.
