Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is searching for a Quality Engineer to develop and implement quality assurance programs ensuring products meet standards and customer needs. The role emphasizes driving ISO/IATF/ASTM compliance, SPC analysis, and coordination with ERP systems.

You will manage customer quality concerns, supervise QA staff, and contribute to continuous improvement. The position is on-site in Alabama with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

Position Summary

With direction, the Quality Engineer will develop, coordinate, and implement the quality assurance program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards and meets or exceeds customer needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture.
• Utilization of key enterprise resource ERP management system involvement.
• Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
• Manages customer relationships relative to customer needs, concerns, dissatisfactions, audits, inspections, etc.
• Investigates and resolves customer complaints regarding quality.
• Develops and implements systems to meet third party certifications to include ISO, IATF, ASTM, customer Quality Assurance programs, etc.
• Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
• Performs quality reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
• Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
• Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
• Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
• Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
• Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
• Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• May directly supervise a team of Quality Technicians.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training.
