Job summary

Carlex is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to uphold quality policies and ensure compliance with IATF/ISO standards. The role leads PPAP documentation, audits, and cross-functional quality improvements across the plant.

You will coordinate with Corporate Quality, interact with customers and suppliers, and travel to assembly sites as needed to review products and ensure regulatory and internal standards are met.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or technical field; or High School diploma with 8+ years manufacturing Quality experience.
• IATF Internal Auditor certification is mandatory; Lead Auditor preferred.
• 3+ years Quality experience in manufacturing with undergraduate degree; 8+ years with High School diploma.
• Training in Core Tools recently or willingness to receive within first year; Lean, 5S, Six Sigma knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy.
• Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2024 and ISO 9001:2024 standards and customer requirements.
• Lead development of production documentation to PPAP requirements (Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, Standardized Work).
• Monitor warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.
• Oversee process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability.
• Develop internal quality standards with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager.
• Ensure quality systems and procedures are used by all associates.
• Communicate significant quality issues across the Company.
• Develop partnerships with customers and suppliers.
• Collaborate with plant teams to address issues and improve product/process quality.
• Occasional travel to assembly plants to review products with customer personnel.
• Know government-required testing and recordkeeping per FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC and other country regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy
• Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2024 and ISO 9001:2024 standards as well as customer defined quality systems and requirements
• Lead the development of production documentation including Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA and Standardized Work to PPAP requirements
• Monitor customer supplied warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.
• Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability
• In conjunction with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager, develop internal quality control standards for the plant
• Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates
• Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the Company
• Develop and maintain a partnership-style relationship with customers and suppliers
• Work closely with other plant team members to address the day to day problems and improve product and process quality
• Occasionally travel to the assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel
• Be knowledgeable all government-required testing, reporting and recordkeeping as required by FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC, and other country regulations

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or another technical field required, or;
• High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years relevant manufacturing Quality experience required
• IATF Internal Auditor certification is required
• IATF Lead Auditor preferred

Years of Experience:

• 3+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with an undergraduate Degree
• 8+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with a High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Requirements:

• Recent training in Core Tools, or willingness to receive training within the first year in the position
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Total Quality Concepts, and Six Sigma
• Possess a robust understanding of the IATF and ISO standards and their implementation in an automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 facility
• Valid driver’s license required for business travel
• Regular and predictable attendance required
• Off-schedule hours may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
