Job summary

Carlex Glass America, LLC is seeking a Quality Compliance Leader to uphold quality policies and ensure plant adherence to IATF-16949:2024 and ISO 9001:2024 standards. The role leads documentation development (Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA) to PPAP standards and monitors warranty data and PPAP files.

The ideal candidate will oversee audits and inspections for quality and reliability, collaborate with Corporate Quality, maintain internal QC standards, and drive continuous improvement with customers

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Core Tools, Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Total Quality Concepts and Six Sigma.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret and apply IATF and ISO standards in automotive settings.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy
  • Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2024 and ISO 9001:2024 standards and customer quality systems
  • Lead development of production documentation (Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA, Standardized Work) to PPAP requirements
  • Monitor warranty data and PPAP files and respond accordingly
  • Oversee evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability
  • Develop internal quality control standards with Corporate Quality and Quality Manager
  • Ensure quality systems are maintained and used by all associates
  • Communicate significant quality issues at all levels of the company
  • Develop partnerships with customers and suppliers
  • Collaborate with plant teams to improve product and process quality
  • Occasionally travel to assembly plants for product reviews and customer interactions
  • Be knowledgeable of government-required testing, reporting and recordkeeping (FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC and others)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or another technical field
High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years relevant manufacturing Quality experience

Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Uphold the Carlex Quality Policy

  • Maintain plant compliance to IATF-16949:2024 and ISO 9001:2024 standards as well as customer defined quality systems and requirements

  • Lead the development of production documentation including Control Plans, DVP&R, PFMEA and Standardized Work to PPAP requirements

  • Monitor customer supplied warranty data and supplier PPAP files and respond accordingly.

  • Oversee the evaluation of process audits and finished product inspections for quality and reliability

  • In conjunction with Corporate Quality and the Quality Manager, develop internal quality control standards for the plant

  • Ensure quality systems and procedures are maintained and effectively used by all associates

  • Communicate significant quality issues throughout all levels of the Company

  • Develop and maintain a partnership-style relationship with customers and suppliers

  • Work closely with other plant team members to address the day to day problems and improve product and process quality

  • Occasionally travel to the assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel

  • Be knowledgeable all government-required testing, reporting and recordkeeping as required by FMVSS-205, ECER43, CCC, and other country regulations


REQUIREMENTS:


Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or another technical field required, or;

  • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years relevant manufacturing Quality experience required


Years of Experience:



  • 3+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with an undergraduate Degree

  • 8+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment with a High School Diploma or equivalent


Other Requirements:



  • Recent training in Core Tools, or willingness to receive training within the first year in the position

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, Total Quality Concepts, and Six Sigma

  • Possess a robust understanding of the IATF and ISO standards and their implementation in an automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 facility

  • Valid driver’s license required for business travel

  • Regular and predictable attendance required

  • Off-schedule hours may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays


KEY COMPETENCIES:



  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis
