Job summary

Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking a Quality Engineer in Charlotte, MI to provide problem-solving leadership, drive continuous improvement, and ensure quality systems meet ISO9001 requirements. You will direct cross-functional teams, analyze data, and develop QC methods to prevent defects.

Requirements include an engineering degree (technical/associate acceptable), 2+ years in quality systems, and knowledge of lean manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Technical degree in engineering or related field is required
  • CQE certification preferred by ASQ
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in quality systems (ISO9001)
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge related to quality improvement
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project and data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail with good written and verbal communication
  • Able to work in cross-functional teams
  • Flexible to changing priorities
  • Advanced computer skills required

Responsibilities

  • Develop quality-related documents: control plans, PFMEA, flow charts, PPAP, 8D.
  • Create inspection and process control requirements and operator instructions
  • Lead containment activities with quality management
  • Lead problem-solving for internal and external issues with countermeasures
  • Analyze engineering and customer specs to develop QC methods and documents
  • Resolve daily issues related to quality assurance activities
  • Lead team meetings and present technical information to customers to reduce defects
  • Implement customer product quality and system requirements
  • Ensure both customer and internal requirements are met
  • Represent Quality in Product Launch team
  • Perform associate training as needed
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships across organization

Quality Engineer | Charlotte, MI

Regular Employee | Salary Exempt | $80,000.00 - 90,000.00


What you’ll do:

The Quality Engineer position is responsible for providing problem-solving leadership to the organization, directing cross-functional teams for corrective action resolution, leading, and implementing continuous improvement activities, monitoring key measurement data for trend analysis and areas for improvement, and complying with established quality system registration requirements, procedures, and objectives.



  • Developing quality-related documents - control plan, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), flow chart, PPAP, 8D, etc.

  • Creating inspection and process control requirements and operator instructions

  • Leading and assisting Quality management with internal containment activities

  • Leading problem-solving activities for internal and external issues, implementing countermeasures, and reporting in an appropriate format

  • Analyzing engineering and customer specifications and monitoring operational processes to develop quality control methods, practices, and process documents

  • Resolving daily issues related to quality assurance activities

  • Leading team meetings and presenting technical information to internal and external customers for defect reduction activities

  • Implementing customer product quality and system requirements

  • Ensuring both customer and internal requirements are met

  • Representing Quality in the Product Launch team

  • Performing associate training, as needed

  • Developing and maintaining professional, collaborative, and productive working relationships with all levels of the organization


What you need to be successful:


  • Associate or Technical degree required (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field preferred)

  • American Society for Quality CQE certificate preferred

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in quality systems, specifically in the ISO9001 standard

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and the relationship to quality improvement

  • Project management experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Project

  • Working knowledge of data collection and data analysis

  • Clear understanding of quality system tools and standards

  • Strong and consistent attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task

  • Team oriented

  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

  • Advanced computer skills are required
